Augie Garrido Honored by Cal State Fullerton

baseball coachAugie Garrido, considered one of the greatest NCAA baseball coaches was honored by Cal State Fullerton. In celebration of their new team clubhouse, the Titans unveiled a bronze statue of their winningest coach. Timeless Creations sculptor Lou Cella and Studio of Rotblatt Amrany founder Omri Amrany were present for the unveiling at Goodwin Field.

The Fullerton Titans  were led by Coach Garrido to win College World Series championships in 1979, 1984 and again in 1995. Garrido spent time coaching at University of Illinois and University of Texas, as well. The Titans Baseball team is building a fully decked-out clubhouse for its team, with each component being sponsored by former players and current supporters of the team. Honoring Augie Garrido with a bronze sculpture was a project led by former player and coach, Joe Martelli.
