Mckinlock American Legion Memorial

About Project

McKinlock American Legion Post 264 commissioned a memorial to veterans of Lake Forest who gave their lives in service to the country. Fellow veteran and Post 264 member Gary Tillery designed the 13-ton granite wall, sculpted the white bronze eagle on the front side, and wrote a poem to the fallen which was read by Ed Geraghty of Post 264 at the dedication. The names of the fallen are recorded on a cenotaph placed behind the wall. Thank you to all the donors and everyone who contributed to making this long planned memorial a reality.
