He Kept the White Sox in Chicago

Former Governor James R. Thompson was honored with a bronze bust of his likeness outside Guaranteed Rate Field. Artist Omri Amrany sculpted the “Longest Serving Governor in Illinois History”. Jerry Reinsdorf, the Thompson family, and supporters were present at the unveiling to recall the actions taken to keep the Chicago team on the South Side and to build “New Comiskey Park”, now Guaranteed Rate Field. The bronze bust of Thompson sits next to Gate 4, across from the “Championship Moments” sculpture by Julie Rotblatt Amrany. The Chicago White Sox events team put together a wonderful event–many thanks from all of us in the Studio.
