Julie Rotblatt-Amrany began her career in figurative art in 1985 while living in Pietra Santa, Italy, where she was part of a marble carving community. She completed her bachelor’s degree in art at the University of Colorado in 1980 and studied Sculpture and Art Education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago between 1981 and 1986, where she returned to teach figure sculpting from 1995 through 2000. In 1989, she and Omri Amrany founded and developed the Rotblatt Amrany Studio, now located in Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Her work is in numerous collections, including those of the Adler Planetarium, the Chicago Bulls, the Los Angeles Lakers, and more. Her work is informed by scientific knowledge and advancements and the never-ending quest for expansion of human knowledge.
